RECOMMENDED FOR INTERIOR surfaces only. Can be applied onto correctly prepared new and previously painted walls as well as correctly prepared timber surfaces. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR wet areas and not suitable for wooden counter tops.
PLEASE NOTE:
Correct preparation is essential. All surfaces must be sound and prepared in the recommended manner. For more information on surface preparation contact your closest Paintsmiths store.
PRIMING
Apply 1 coat of Earthcote Down to Earth Matt, tinted to your chosen Worn Leather colour, using a Paintsmith’s 225mm Polypile roller and a Paintsmith’s 50mm Utility brush (for cutting in) at a spread rate of ± 7m²/litre. Allow to dry for 4 hours before over-coating.
COATING
Apply 2 coats of Earthcote Worn Leather using a Paintsmith’s 150mm Fibreglass brush using criss-cross strokes working it to stretch the product as far as possible at a spread rate of ± 8m²/litre. Allow 4 hours drying time between coats.
IMPORTANT: Always keep a wet edge and avoid downing tools during the application process to prevent lap marks and variances in colour or texture. Work from corner to corner, or from a natural cut off point to another. For the same reason, do not attempt to patch this coating. SEALING Apply 2 coats of Earthcote Wall Wax with a lint free mutton cloth or buffing machine with lambswool pad, working from corner to corner at a spread rate of ± 40m² per 1.7kg tin. The more coats of Earthcote Wall Wax applied, the more lustrous and rich the coating will be.
NOTE: Earthcote Wall Wax is purely a decorative finish and offers limited sealing properties. Earthcote Colour Retaining Primer or Earthcote Water-based Twin Pack Acrithane should be used to seal in the more trafficable areas. Please refer to the relevant product data sheets for more detailed information on application.
Walls (cement plaster, concrete or masonry) must be dry before painting and should not exceed a moisture content of 10% as measured with a Protimeter Surveymaster Moisture Meter or equal. The ambient temperature must not be below 10ºC and not higher than 35ºC. Humidity must not be below 10% and not higher than 85%.
